This piece depicts an aerial view of a graveyard -- gray and filled with tombstones -- as well as a pool that is overflowing and spilling over into the gravestones. It represents new life and possibilities for hope in the experience of loss and in the face of the daily deaths that are part of dealing with a chronic illness. In many ways, this piece can be seen as a companion piece to "Interruption." The grey and white tombstones of loss replace the pulsing, thriving, colourful boxes of activity. But the "splat" representing the interruption of chronic illness in "Interruption" is replaced with a pool in this painting -- the source of new life and healing.
