Description: This course introduces participants to the rudiments of knitting, including the various needle sizes and yarn weights; the basic knitting terminology found on patterns; how to “cast on” stitches to begin a project; how to knit and purl; how to “bind off” a project and weave in the ends to finish a piece; and how to turn a scarf into a cowl. Course includes a free scarf pattern. No experience necessary.

Description: This course invites participants to advance their knitting skills as they learn to work with small circular needles and fingering weight yarn. In this course, participants build on current knitting skills and master new techniques with double-pointed needles. This class is excellent for confident knitters who have experience knitting in the round and want to expand their repertoire. Course includes a free sock pattern.

Description: This class introduces participants to the technique of interchanging colours to achieve the intricate and beautiful details found in fair isle patterns. Participants will receive a free fair isle pattern to use as a starting point and be shown how to design their own fair isle patterns to use in future projects (like mittens, socks, or sweaters). This class is excellent for competent knitters who want to expand their skills and extend their creativity.
